Introduction

If you wish to ascertain how you are going and whether you are likely to be promoted, ask these questions

Some questions

1. How many different kinds of professional/managerial roles have you held during your career, eg finance, HR, technical, operational, managerial, marketing/sales, legal, etc)?

2. How many different organisations have you worked for?

3. How many different industries have you worked in?

4. How much training have you done in completely different fields to your chosen profession?

5. Does your track record indicate that you make things happen wherever you go?

NB This is not necessarily a complete list but it can give you an understanding of how well rounded your experience and capability (professionally and personally) are.
