Another Way Of Looking At Co-Creating

Introduction

Co-creating consists of 2 steps:

i) contribution of content

ii) selection of the best contribution

Co-creation can be restricted to the organisation or open to outside contributors

Four types of co-creation

i) collaboration (open contribution while organisation-led selection eg open source software development

ii) tinkering (open contribution, organisational-led selection)

iii) co-designing (fixed contribution, organisational-led selection)

iv) submitting (involves asking people to come up with their own detail solutions for designs, rather than just answering predetermined questions, organisational-led selection)
