How Staff can Hinder Management

Staff often assume that management is solely responsible, but this is not the case. The attitudes or mental models that result in staff hindering management:
. We have no right to initiate new activities
. We can act, but only after the management directions are fully spelled out
. We can trust somebody completely, or not at all
. It is not right for us to challenge the boss
. Management does not inform us about what's going on
. Management can't, or won't, accept any help from us
. Executives pull the strings and the organisation does what they want
