This is a 2-day interactive training session focusing on latest thinking plus current and potential challenges around handling

A. Strategy

Topics to be covered:

    • Background to strategy (trends, definitions, types of planning (scenario, strategic, marketing, operational, etc), impact of disruptive technology(ies), life-cycle approach, cultural challenges, etc)
    • Process (some useful techniques)
      • PESTLEC (identify impacts of political, economical, sociological, technological, legal, environmental & competition elements)
      • SWOTT (identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats & trends)
      • Discussability of Issues (hidden challenges are identified)
      • Network Analysis (understand the relationships of different stakeholders)
      • Business Model (S-curve, explore building blocks, etc)
      • Culture (understanding where culture is now and in the future)
      • Utopia (identify what you want to achieve)
      • Statements (vision, mission & values)
      • Scenario Planning (explore alternatives identified by Utopia, risk management, etc)
      • Driving Forces (explore the forces driving each alternative and identify strategies to implement)
      • 6 thinking hats (check the suitability of identified strategies)
      • Fan Concept/Po/Random Word (creative thinking tools used to identify new strategies)
      • Action Plan (how to implement new selected strategies)

    • Background to change (including general background, definitions, trends, (like impacts of neuroscience, social media, project management, etc), characteristics of high-performance organisations, fundamental forces that drive organisational change (motivation & persuasion, evolutionary physiology, human instincts, etc), ROI on a change project, common management errors, reasons organisational change efforts often fail, understanding and handling resistance, limitations of overseas change management frameworks, 70+ change management frameworks with detailed explanations, case studies)
    • Using 7 essential ingredients to develop your own case study around organisational change. The 7 ingredients that can be used to plan, establish, develop, implement, check progress, audit performance, and monitor and evaluate an organisational change, ie
      • Ingredient 1 - Laying a foundation for new ways
      • Ingredient 2 - Establishing a sense of urgency
      • Ingredient 3 - Forming a transitional team
      • Ingredient 4 - Creating alignment

        • Level 1 - Position related (new supervisor/team leader)
        • Level 2 - Permission/relationship level (experienced supervisor/team leader)
