Some questions to help determine the level of engagement and some appropriate strategies:

Do your staff know the objective(s) of your business?

Do your staff know their role in achieving the objective(s)?

Do they know and believe in the vision, the dreams and the story of your business?

Are your operational/line managers taking personal interest in the people?

Do your operational/line managers know their staff's aspirations, dreams, wants and needs?

Do your staff know what's expected of them?

Are your staff receiving communication and feedback through performance management on how about they are performing and how they are perceived to be performing?

Is the training your staff receive contributing to their personal and professional development?

Are they being rewarded fairly and equitably against similar positions within your organisation and industry?
